ASAWA SOTA ALUMNI are everywhere......scattered along an academic corridor spanning the forests of Humboldt County, the hills of San Francisco, the beach cities of San Luis Obispo & Santa Cruz, the tangled freeways of Los Angeles and the picture perfect weather of San Diego, in cities and towns across the United States and Europe, from the Castro to Carnegie Hall.

Whether pursuing a Masters degree in engineering, running an arts collective for the aging, interviewing for a beauty pageant, performing on Broadway, writing for a local newspaper, dancing with the SF Ballet, managing a Digital Design Lab, preparing a broadcast for a public radio station, dressing movie stars on a film set, busking and biking up and down the Eastern Seaboard, interning in the public defender’s office for the City of San Francisco, or any of the paths of experience they choose, their shared experience as members of the creative community at Asawa SOTA will always be at the core of their identities as artists, as activists, as advocates.

They can be found in London at the barre of the Royal Academy of Dance, in Paris on a European tour of an independent circus troupe, and in a San Francisco hospital learning about pediatric nursing and neuroscience, in a suburb of Chicago pursuing a Masters degree in engineering, in Oakland running an arts collective for the aging, interviewing for a beauty pageant, performing on Broadway, writing for a local newspaper, dancing with the SF Ballet, managing a Digital Design Lab, preparing a weekly broadcast for public radio, costuming stars for a feature film, busking and biking up and down the Eastern Seaboard, recording a solo album, interning in a public defender’s office.
