LA CLEOPATRA

  • St. Aidan's Church 101 Goldmine Drive San Francisco, CA 94131 USA

Italian language students will perform vocal, instrumental, dance and theatrical excerpts from "La Cleopatra" by Daniele da Castrovillari, The opera, lost for centuries in the archives of the Biblioteca Marciana in Venice, Italy, since its premiere in 1662, may bear the name of the legendary femme fatale but that's where the similarity to the original ends. Audiences should be prepared for "a hefty dose of the unexpected...a lively salmagundi...entirely in the spirit of Carnevale."

Adults $10 • Free for students under 18. Tickets available at the door.
