GRADES & TRANSCRIPTS
Year-long classes are taken in two semesters- Fall and Spring, consisting of three, six-week, grading periods.
Report cards are sent to the student’s home. Copies are available at the end of each grading period, from the Grade-Level Counselor. Only final semester grades are included on official academic transcripts.
Students earn credit for D grades or higher. College admission requirements ask that students earn a C grade or higher.
If a student receives a D or F, and repeats the same course, the higher grade will be used in the GPA calculation, although both courses and grades remain on the transcript.
GPA- GRADE POINT AVERAGE
Two types of GPA will appear on your student's transcript:
• Cumulative 9-12 Unweighted: averages every course taken in grades 9-12 on a 4.0 scale.
• Cumulative 9-12 Weighted: averages every course taken in 9-12, with an extra point given for completed Honors or AP classes.
