Diana Chau (Artist-in-Residence, Music Theory; SOTA alumna) is a pianist, music educator, and artist. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of California, Santa Cruz and completed her Master of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Oklahoma. She recently performed a full-length solo recital, debuted a performance in Austria, and appeared as concerto soloistin UC Santa Cruz. Her former piano teachers include Dr. Jeongwon Ham, Dr. Stephen Beus, Mary Jane Cope, Ava Soifer, and Joyce Moy.
Ms. Chau is an active educator and member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT), and Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC), San Francisco Branch. Her current positions include chairing CAPMT’s Northern Festival and North Regional Concerto Competition, serving as Board of Director in MTAC, teaching as piano faculty in Myriad Music and Dance Academy, and maintaining a private piano studio. As a leader in various programs, she is committed to improving the quality, accessibility, and awareness of arts.
