Academy of Arts & Sciences
The Academy of Arts & Sciences (AAS) is a separate small high school that shares space with SOTA on the McAteer campus.
Designated as a Small School by Design (SSD), with total enrollment of approximately 350 students, the Academy is committed to offering a unique learning experience based on the belief that smaller schools are best able to serve the needs of all their students.
With an arts-based, multidisciplinary curriculum, students participate in a regular arts program in areas such as Visual Arts, Design, Theater, World Music, and Instrumental Music.
In addition, the Academy partners with the Build San Francisco Institute – a program for students pursuing design, construction, engineering, and architecture.
Admission to AAS is not by audition, as it is at SOTA, but is handled through the San Francisco Unified School District's regular high school admissions process. For more information about AAS, please visit: http://www.sotacad.org.
