On Wednesday, September 14, at 11:00 AM, the San Francisco School of the Arts (SOTA) will proudly unveil our brand-new marquee in celebration of the school's new identity as the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts and to kick off our 30th Anniversary!
We're celebrating 30 years of artistic instruction and academic excellence to San Francisco’s young artists.

On Saturday, September 17, from 10 am to noon, we will also host a city-wide celebration of our school and programs; more details to follow. Be on the lookout for information on additional special 30th Anniversary events throughout the year, as well as over 100 regularly scheduled SOTA student performances.
Founded by sculptor and artist Ruth Asawa, other local artists, educators, and parents 30 years ago, the SOTA public high school has provided world-class arts education in the disciplines of creative writing, dance, instrumental music and piano, theatre arts and theatre technology, film and media, and visual arts.
