Application Process
How to apply
NOTE: World Music has just been added as an arts discipline. Click here if you are interested in World Music.
SOTA application forms can be viewed and printed from this website. When you've completed the application packet and portfolio (if required), please hand-deliver the following items to SOTA located at 555 Portola Drive, San Francisco, Main Office. Applications are accepted after October 31, 2011.
A completed application packet includes:
- SOTA Application Page - Print or pick up in the main office at SOTA . (click to download)
- SOTA Recommendation Form - Print or pick up in the main office at SOTA. (click to download)
- Student Essay - Tell us about yourself, your interests, arts background and why you wan to attend SOTA.
- Report Card (most recent)
- Portfolio - Required only for Creative Writing, Media and Visual Arts. Please check the Department Audition Requirement page
Application Deadline:
There are 2 application deadlines that correspond to 2 audition dates. Students submitting their application materials for the 1st Round Audition will have an opportunity (if necessary) to apply to the 2nd round Audition.
- Friday, December 2, 2011, 3pm, for a Saturday, January 7, 2012 Audition (1st round)
- Friday, February 10, 2012, 3pm, for a Saturday, March 3, 2012 Audition (2nd round)
Re-Apply:
If you have already applied to one discipline and wish to re-apply to the same discipline you do not need to turn in another application but you must contact us at admissions@sfsota.org prior to the application deadline so you can be scheduled for a second audition.
If you have already applied to one discipline and wish to change to a different discipline you do not need to turn in another application but you must contact us at admissions@sfsota.org prior to the application deadline so you can be scheduled for a second audition.
