The SOTA Visual Arts department focuses on drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and graphics. Students are directed toward the discovery of a strong personal style
and meaning in all aspects of art and
creativity.
At the senior level, students focus on experimental art, with a strong emphasis on the mastery of technique and observational skills.
SOTA students participate in national contests and develop portfolios for college and art school entry.
Students who enter the SOTA Visual Arts department demonstrate strong observational skills, originality, personal expression, and individual creativity that is expressed in strong artistic choices and the bold use of light, color, and shape. Visual Arts students are focused, responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently and with a group.
