Asawa SOTA welcomes a new department of study this year: Spoken Arts, an explorative track into language communication and literary performance.
Foundational elements include intensive study into the science of sound and its effect on listeners, the mathematics of music and rhythm, use of intentional language throughout history, sound production in media and film, and much more.
Students have opportunities to explore their creative voice(s) through poetry, dramatic and comedic performance, improvisation, rap, and public speaking. For those who wish to harness their skills in verbal dexterity and linguistic creativity, this track will give you a head start on your personal journey towards limitless possibilities.
Spoken Arts is taught by an award-winning writer, musician, actor, emcee, and professional teaching artist, Rahman Jamaal, who is the Founder of Rap Force Academy™ and current Executive Director of Hip Hop Congress.
