A senior in Tech and an avid fan of opossums, ossein, John Muir and quantum physics, she hopes that you enjoy your stay.
Hi, my name is Salena Nguyen, the 11th grade Treasurer and currently a junior in the Theatre Department. Outside of school, I am a competitive club swimmer on the FOG City Hammerheads team and a Junior Zoologist volunteer at the San Francisco Zoo. I also work at an outreach program at the Exploratorium teaching middle school kids how to use power tools under a S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) system.
I also started a Youth Project with a friend of mine from Lowell called "Peace of Mind Media", helping San Franciscan teens find their inner peace through self expression and advocacy on a media platform. I am involved with several other clubs: Asian Club, CSF tutoring, and I am currently the President of the "Peace Outt" club. This is my second year on the SOTA Mock Trial TEAM and I look forward to representing our team to the best of my abilities. This is my first year on the SOTA Student Council and the Prom Committee. This year, I hope to bring some fresh, fun ideas into fundraising for the class of 2016!! I also hope to incorporate some of my new ideas into the different upcoming events this year.

My name is Evan Wong and I'm excited to be your Student Body Secretary. I am currently a junior in the SOTA Vocal Department studying Classical Voice. In my spare time, I enjoy singing in barbershop quartets and eating pupusas. This will be my first time in a leadership position.
I chose to participate in Student Government because I felt like I could make this school a better place and that it was the best outlet for me to do that. SOTA is like a second home to many people, and I want to make sure it is the best that it can be. I know that this year will be great one, and I can't wait to start improving this wonderful community.

My name is Noah and I am in the PR position at SOTA with my friend, Gabe Bibliowicz. I am a junior in the World Music Department. I like attending SOTA because of its rich culture and nice building. My hobbies include: playing golf and supporting my thriving Jewish community.
Gabe and I are in Student Gov, trying very hard to fill the shoes of the infamous Stevie Stern, former Student Government Public Relations powerhouse..
I am very excited for this upcoming year and hope to accomplish many great things. I have a lot of passion for this position and in quoting the miraculous Donald Trump, "Without passion you don't have energy; without energy you have nothing."
My name is Gabe Bibliowicz. My friend Noah Keith and I make up the Public Relations team here in Student Gov. I am a Junior in the Vocal Department majoring in Classical Voice. This is my first year with student gov.
My hobbies include baking creme brûlée and being active in my thriving Jewish community. I enjoy attending SOTA because it allows me to sing every afternoon, on top of attending the best academic classes the district has to offer. I can't wait to accomplish great things this year with Student Gov and in quoting the great Donald Trump, "You have to think anyway, so why not think big?"
I am a junior in SOTA Orchestra. I developed a passion for music and environmentalism about eight years ago, shortly after I began studying the violin. As a freshman I noticed our school's lack of composting and recycling and immediately sought to fix it. At the beginning of sophomore year I joined Student Government as Director of Sustainability and I am very excited to continue my work this year, with our dynamic, encouraging group.
Noah is a sophomore in the Musical Theatre Department, and was raised to be very environmentally aware-their father is a professor of atmospheric science at UC Berkeley. Noah joined student government so that to help bring raise awareness about SOTA's environmental impact. Through small changes, students can make a big difference in our environmental footprint as a school. Noah is hard working, and is confident that they can help make a difference in the way we see the environment at SOTA. In their spare time, Noah enjoys playing piano, hanging out with friends, practicing makeup techniques, and exploring their personal style.
My name is Zoë Ferguson and I'm a sophomore in Musical Theatre and the SOTA Academy Liaison. Outside of school and my art, I play soccer for SF United; and it's because of soccer that I made the connection with the Academy and formed relationships with some of the students there. After playing on the Academy girls soccer team last year, I realized that both SOTA and the Academy have bad reputations at each other's school. I joined Student Government because I want to change that- neither school is as bad as the other says it is. I believe that if we got to know each other a little better we might find we aren't as different as it may seem.
Hello! I am Jessica Dyer, a junior is School of the Art's Theatre department. I am also the Arts Liaison, so I will be the one who makes sure the relationships between the different departments run smoothly. I attend meetings with the principal to address issues, questions, and concerns that students have, and bring that information back to the student body for group discussion. In past years, I served as the 9th grade President, as well as Assistant Activities Director. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to approach or contact me - that is precisely why I am here. I look forward to representing the Arts this year at the School of the Arts! :)
Hello, my name is Kathlynn Simotas and I am a Junior in the Classical Vocal Department, gladly serving SOTA’s student body as an Officer-at-Large. I bring a distinct range of attributes to the Student Government community this year, the most important being my assiduous nature and general admiration for the creativity and ingenuity of all of my classmates.
Personally, I am a self proclaimed musical nerd, with interests varying from math, psychology, and physics, to literature, music, and philosophy. In my spare time, you can find me reading a good book, writing music, or jotting down thoughts and ideas for stories and poems in my notebook. I also enjoy spending time with my parents and cat, watching documentaries, and thinking about Star Wars and Star Trek.
This is my second year in a leadership position, and I want to continue to help make SOTA a safe, friendly environment for all, particularly by encouraging students to get more involved in the school’s community. Also, I would like to begin fundraising and bringing awareness to some of the major issues I’ve encountered at SOTA and to get a head start on acquiring needed resources for future events. Come approach either myself or one of the other officers in student government to find out more information about upcoming events or how to make our school a better place together!
