GUIDE TO VOLUNTEERING AT SOTA
Volunteers are vital to the Asawa SOTA community. From feeding students during rehearsal weeks to painting benches, planting flowers, and greeting college representatives during campus visits, every person who donates their time truly supports arts education–not just for their own students, but for all students at Asawa SOTA. Check the calendar for regular volunteer opportunities. Sign up for something that fits your schedule or your skill set. Have some ideas you'd like to share? Get in touch. Hospitality and personality at audition days and performances, baked goods, merchandise sales, staff appreciation, office work, help in the College Center…plenty of opportunities weekly.
Inspire the Asawa SOTA community to get out their checkbooks and contribute to the Annual Fund. Grant writing, brainstorming, event-planning all fall under the Friends of SOTA umbrella.
The show must go on... at least 50 times each year! Meet and greet patrons, work concessions, usher, help with lobby prep and maintenance, manage food and drink for performers, parking signage.
Represent our school to prospective parents and students, distribute information, answer questions. Encourage new families to sample some SOTA and be inspired to apply!
Spend some time with like-minded parents who feel the campus should be a beautiful place! Breakfast pastries and coffee or a pizza lunch are usually part of the days' activities.
Help get the word out about performances, screenings, and exhibitions, by distributing posters and postcards across the city, help out with online postings, write press releases.
